ARTIST DETAILS- This plate is from Calcutta and it Environ which was published in 1848. Doyly was a Senior Member of the Board of Customs, Salt, and Opium and Marine Board in Calcutta, A man of boundless energy, he was a satirical observer of Anglo-Indian life. Between 1821 and 1832 when Doyly lived in Patna and started the first lithographic printing press. He would travel up the Ganges would stop there and spend lively evenings at his house, admiring his drawings and dining well.
