This Plate is from Views in India, Saint Helena, and Car Nicobar drawn from nature and on stone. London: c.1832-38, an interesting and rare series of views and scenes with notes containing incidental information and comments on local customs, architecture, and military actions in India. Luard served as a captain in the 16th Light Dragoons from 1825 to 1832, when he moved to the 30th Foot. He retired as major in 1834, and obtained a brevet lieutenant-colonelcy in 1838.
